So, in a bid to traverse the traffic jams that are available for our entertainment (but mainly indignation) every morning and evening, we normally end up far removed from our natural and logical path between work & home (or wherever you end up after work...).
Anyway, today was no exception as it found me driving past the big man's
mansion. As I slowly crawled at the natural speed of rush-hour traffic I happened to notice a sign on the perimeter of the 300+ hectare compound that ostensibly purported to prohibit any form of photography; and I thought: "
What a load of bull crap!!" In this techno-savvy age what would a few grainy pictures of some bushes surrounding the mansion achieve?!? What you need is to fire up your Google Earth and
voila! all is there to be viewed by the naked eye; hell you can even get the exact geographical coordinates of the First Bathroom!!
I don't see how blanking out such sites on our maps helps while you can have the best view in the house, from the air, and in vivid living colour! Same goes for military installations such as Moi Air Base and Langata Barracks which are available in detail from Google Earth.
